What is a Preferred Risk Pool?
In health insurance, a risk pool is a group of individuals whose medical costs are combined to calculate premiums.
With most health insurance plans, you’re lumped in with average and poor-performing employers, and as a result, your health insurance premiums can increase significantly. In fact, your healthy workforce may be offsetting the costs of less healthy organizations.
With ERChealth, you gain more control over costs as a result of a preferred risk pool. You’re grouped with select employers, resulting in more predictable and stable premiums. In addition, you can participate in health and wellness programs to earn renewal credits to directly reduce your premiums.
Why Choose ERChealth?
Hear what some current ERChealth members have to say.
-
We have been ERChealth members for nearly 15 years. We continue coming back year after year because ERChealth members can earn between 2% to 5% off their renewal. So, if let’s say, we have a 10% renewal, we earn the 5% credit by participating in certain required programs. We would only have a 5% renewal because they would credit us back that 5% that we earned through the programs. On average, we historically have earned at least a 3% credit.

They’ve [ERChealth] been great to work with, very transparent on what they provide as far as information on your claims. They do a great job with different size companies with their stop-losses and they really help you manage the cost of health insurance.
